Post No. 1,826 - Dowsing The World’s Psychic Weather - Water: Lesson Ten - Working on your own

When you are learning with someone else present, it is easy to do things such as have them fill one or a few out of a set of glasses and then cover them with a tea towel, so you can come back in an try out various techniques to refine your dowsing ability. (Try the crystal in each hand, try the crystal dry / wet, each hand (or both) dry / wet, the cord dry/wet, the crystal and cord dry / wet, etc.)

However, unless you are exceptionally forgetful, you cannot do that when you are working on your own, so how can you test your accuracy?

The answer is by introducing an element of randomness, but:

  • this must be small scale (trying to discern large matters makes you subject to a plethora of psychic influences which can affect your accuracy: better to learn without trying to deal with that as well);
  • it should be something that interests you or that you can relate to, if possible; and
  • it must be something you can repeat when you wish so you can make changes to your technique and see if it improves / worsens / makes no change to the result.

One way to introduce randomness would be to cover your hand with a tea towel while you roll and throw some dice - making sure the thrown dice stay under the tea towel. Then you could ask your pendulum for a yes/no to questions such as :is the total above X / below Y / is the total Z?

Or possibly put a dozen pieces of confetti or small pieces of paper or objects in your hand, throw them under the tea towel and see how many land on a piece of paper or marked out area (don’t use permanent marker to outline the area).

Random, and boring to me and possibly many others. I would find it more interesting to say, ask if any seeds I had planted have germinated and if so which / how many, then go outside and check.

The problem with these examples is that it is hard to determine what changes to make to your technique (especially something as relatively slow as growing plants). If this is the best you can do, however, after you have had a go, to try to ascertain what changes you might need to make, you could:

  • have a pad prepared with a range of option written in a semi-circle (such as shorter cord, longer cord, change your footing, change your angle of arm/body, change your location in the room / house, apply a sample to the pendulum [difficult for dice, but for seeds maybe apply a small bit of plant material or bit of dirt], improve arm energy flow, improve energy level, better protection, etc) and see which one(s) the pendulum swings toward (your first question might have to be a check of how issues apply), then try those - one at a time - and repeat the test;
  • write each option on a piece of paper, crumple it up, then put them all in a bowl and draw out as many as the pendulum says apply.

With these issues, what applies varies from person to person., If you wonder if X would be an issue, it quite possibly is for you: add it to your list and experiment to see if it has any influence - and accept that it may be of no relevance whatsoever to anyone else.

Also, accept that no change is also useful information - if you are, for instance, consistently finding that type of shoe / being barefoot has not effect, then it is fair to say that isn’t an issue for you.

Have an attitude of curiosity - that will come in handy later, when you are trying to dowse accurate numbers for a psychic weather report, but also have an attitude of wanting to do better.

Now, to check numbers, I suggest having a pad with 0 to 9 written in a semi-circle. Your first question is “how many digits in the answer”? Hopefully the answer will be just 1 or 2 (0 is saying go away and come back later and try again): if it is more, you may have to ask for, say, the most important options for you to work on.

If the answer is 1 digit, you then ask the pendulum to indicate how many, and may get, say, 6.

If the answer was 2 digits, you do this for each digit, and may get 26, or 75, or 88, and so on.

This is also a situation where it would be good to have lots of people working on this - then there would be lots of suggestions, rather than my miserable few ideas (I will add more if I think of any).
