anyone distressed by anything in this post, or for any other reason considering
seeking support, resources are available in Australia here, here, and here. In other nations, you will have to do an Internet search using terms such as “mental health support - <your nation>” (which, for instance, may lead to this, this, and this, in the USA, or this, this, and this, in France [biased towards English-language - my apologies]), or perhaps try https://www.befrienders.org/.
The purposes of this post are:
(1) to provide information, including news, which may be of interest, value, or use to Readers;
(2) to identify both BPM and nonBPM opportunities to do the work of this blog (particularly clearing nonBPM nonphysical units, BPM healing, and BPM strengthening of BPM units); and
(3) to help engage and frame my emotional, mental, and other nonphysical (psychic, spiritual, Higher Self, BPM Guides, etc) aspects both for doing my weekly PWR and for doing the work that flows from the PWR - which may also occur for some others.
Some of the news information will likely be distressing - hence the content warning, to allow people to choose times they have high energy and/or are in a good state to view these, or to ensure they have access to support resources if they may be triggered, or to choose to either temporarily or permanently skip viewing this post or the “News” sections, as is best for their health and wellbeing.
Within the news section, I generally try to identify what is considered “good” news in green, possibly also with green background, but owing to time, energy, and health limitations, may not always be able to do so.

- I have given up trying to take the clickbait use of caps out of
YouTube video titles, as I am posting too many to have the time to
adjust that. Nevertheless, I still dislike that practice.
News:
On the existential climate crisis and nuclear threats this week: a global biodiversity agreement; oceans are being overexploited; “dramatically evolving geopolitical tensions amid “dangerous nuclear rhetoric and threats” are a stark wake-up call for States to take action to support the legally binding atomic weapon ban treaty, UN Secretary-General António Guterres said”; a devastating expansion of tree felling has been ordered in the USA; the “coercive law”, as Marx termed it, of market competition has led to a fossil company abandoning climate responsibility for forced greed - thereby illustrating that “companies will never solve the climate emergency alone. The impetus for change needs to come from government”; options that legal action appears to be a SLAPP against Greenpeace USA directly, and Indigenous land rights in the USA indirectly.
In the global war against the radical right/f_s c_sm (including their networks) this week (and for links on what can be done - now, see here [Indivisible] and Dem-Optimism and this [Robert Reich] and this [AOC] and this [Devon Price] aand this [PBS Voices] and this [on burnout] and this [efficacy of nonviolent protest] and this book and this book and this and these links ):
Also in the USA this week, we have:
- a reminder that “federal law (28 USC section 566(c)) provides that “the United States Marshals Service shall execute all lawful writs, process, and orders issued under the authority of the United States, and shall command all necessary assistance to execute its duties””;
- the USA’s President addressed a joint sitting of the US Congress, with: key takeaways summarised here, fact checks here, here, here (“foundation of lies”) & here, and the President: vowing to continue changing the USA - as Democrats registered their dissent (including at least one walkout) and the nation’s partisan divide was very apparent; contradicted claims by his legal teams; bragged about cutting jobs and changing foreign policy, defended the tariff and culture wars - with responses including this transgender journalist, and this immigrant, and the speech described by Ralph Nader as “A Declaration of War Against the American People”.
This week the Israel-Palestine war/ceasefire has seen:
- Israel will stop aid into Gaza, creating serious health risks, and threatened “additional consequences” (such as this) if H___s did not accept a proposal for a temporary extension of the first phase of the ceasefire; Israel has thanked the USA for sending previously held back munitions which Israel can use against Iran and Iranian proxies; the father of hostage still held by H___s has accused Netanyahu of refusing a deal to stay in power; a reminder Gaza’s recovery must be political, not only physical - for which there is an agreed Arab nations plan; an assessment of Israeli violence in the West Bank; the USA is now directly threatening H___s, rather than going through Israel - with H___s rejecting the threats and insisting on a peace agreement, and pointing out that the USA is effectively encouraging Israel to withdraw from the agreement; the IDF is creating a new anti-Palestinian AI tool;
- a landlord in the USA has been convicted for the hate crime attack on a Palestinian family that included brutally killing a six years old child; condemnation of a violent Islamophobic threat against a mosque in Australia (a suspect has been charged).
In other international news, including the illegal and unprovoked war against Ukraine:
- on the staggering behaviour of the USA’s executive against Ukrainian President Zelens’kyi (who is very strongly supported by very defiant Ukrainians):
- an experienced news reporter’s opinion that the USA’s president just ‘irreparably destroyed the world order’, another noted the evidence of secret communication between the US President and Putin, and and other experts made similar warnings of “seismic” consequences - see also “The War [the USA’s president] Chooses” by Timothy Snyder https://snyder.substack.com/p/the-war-[the_USA’s_president]-chooses “That wasn’t [the USA’s president] against Zelens’kyi. It was Americans against reason”;
- world leaders demonstrated support for Zelens’kyi and Ukraine, and criticised the US President and Vice-President - but Russia has praised the USA for pivoting its foreign policy to align with Russia’s vision;
- a reminder of the times Ukrainian President Zelens’kyi has specifically thanked the USA;
- the USA has now “paused” all military aid to Ukraine leading to calls for world leaders to step up - but Ukraine can keep fighting for now ... but the USA has also cut all intelligence (so other nations, such as the UK, will have to step up ... and France has done so ... and the UK);
- as two US administrations have now declined to provide Ukraine with security guarantees, it is time for Ukraine to moves on from that prospect;
- as it races against time (and other issues) to rearm (with France considering a war economy), EUROPE HAS ACKNOWLEDGED IT SHOULD HAVE WOKEN UP EARLIER - see article below by Anders Puck Nielsen on European vs. Russian military spending; in a major address, France’s President has undertaken to discuss the use of France’s nuclear deterrent - under French control - with European allies, and, noting Russia’s military spending and planned spending, stated “Europe’s future does not have to be decided in Washington or Moscow ... the innocence of the last 30 years [which followed the 1989 fall of the Berlin Wall, is] “now over” - but France would still fufill its NATO obligations to defend the USA if the latter was attacked, but the USA won’t defend the others ... and Zelens’kyi has thanked Europe for standing with Ukraine;
- Zelens’kyi was warmly welcomed to the UK as “the EU foreign policy chief has declared that “the free world needs a new leader”, as European leaders threw their support behind Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy”, the UK said “Europe ‘at crossroads in history’ and must support Ukraine ... [and] confirms UK and France will lead a ‘coalition of the willing’ to help end the war with Russia”, and the prospect of a European nuclear umbrella was raised again; a call for Zelens’kyi to not “grovel” to the USA ... but Zelens’kyi has said he will work under US leadership on a peace plan proposed by Zelens’kyi;
- continued trafficking & illegal/unauthorised activity (just under 150 cases) and radioactive contamination cases have raised urgent concerns over nuclear security; after 40 years of armed conflict, a [proscribed Kurdish group] has declared a ceasefire with Türkiye; 20 US AID projects that have already closed; concerning problems have become apparent with the DRC’s army; Egypt has rejected the attempt to form a parallel government in Sudan; China will increase its military budget by 7%; Greenlanders have said they do NOT want to be Americans; Germany has cut off aid to Rwanda over their influence in the conflict in the DRC; repression in Tunisia, Germany has a growing young progressive movement; ACLED’s March 2025 regional overview for Europe and Central Asia includes an increase in anti-extremism demonstrations ahead of Germany’s elections, and on the USA and Canada covers anti-fascist demonstrations, white nationalist groups, and public comebacks of capital riot groups; South Sudan is on the verge of resuming full scale civil war.

In human rights news:
- a defence of DEI in the workplace;
- appalling revelations about the extent of utterly devastating and deliberate deceit and emotional destruction for up to six years of at least 50 women, four children who were born, and families by at least one fifth (25 - including two women - out of 139) of undercover police over three decades in the UK: ““David Barr, the inquiry’s chief barrister, told a hearing last year that it was not scrutinising whether sexual deception was justified. “It was not,” he said””;
- US police have harassed a ciswoman in female toilets for looking too male, and the USA will resume surveillance of LGBTQIA+ people (the article includes a link to suggestions for protection); after a debate with outright anti-trans lies and confusion over terminology, US Democratic Senators have shown some spine and blocked an anti-trans in sports bill (which the Democrats correctly, IMO, referred to as “The GOP Child Predator Empowerment Act”) as a US court reverses a ban on medical treatment throughout the USA - and powerful speeches by trans MPs have caused 29 conservatives to change their position and help stop anti-trans bills in one state, but another state has passed a bill sponsored by an identified hate group, setting that state back towards being a theocracy; a debunking of claims a study shows surgery doubles depression rates; a formerly progressive US state governor has flipped and become an anti-trans bigot; an official transhating release relies on hate groups;
- US AID cuts and removal of gendered programmes are placing women and girls in conflict zones at risk - including in Ukraine - and one if four nations saw a backlash against women’s rights in 2024; AI reinforces gender stereotypes biases; destruction of schools and child recruitment as fighters in Haiti are profoundly concerning; the USA will adopt its fifth coloniser language as its official language ... ; men as real allies for women; two notorious sex traffickers and misogynistic abusers who were allowed to go to the USA are now under investigation there; an opinion that Syria’s future depends on justice for the disappeared - but fighting against loyalists to the former regime has killed dozens; Uganda’s capital will be decolonised; homophobia from an Australian gym as a major US Pride event kicked out a social media platform that has kicked out its DEI programmes (bigotry has a price); an Australian university report has confirmed that the Voice referendum normalised racism; less well known languages are being used to get around social media platform hate speech and content moderation; a disability employment service falsely told people they HAD to do mutual obligations requirements despite an imminent cyclone (whoever was responsible for that should, IMO, be dismissed);
- Sudan has filed a case at the ICJ against the UAE for supporting RSF in “acts allegedly perpetrated by the Rapid Support Forces and allied militias including “genocide, murder, theft of property, rape, forcible displacement, trespassing, vandalism of public properties, and violation of human rights” targeting the Masalit people” - which claims the UAE has rejected, “asserting the case was a “nothing more than a cynical publicity stunt””;

In societal and governance matters: social security is being attacked; an economic crisis is causing a mental health crisis in French agriculture; “foreign workers have helped to make Spain’s economy the envy of the industrialised world, even as anti-immigration sentiments grow elsewhere in Europe and in the United States”; an assessment that recent activities by Chinese warships off the Australia coast shows the weakness of Australia’s navy compared to the modern Chinese navy; “negative campaigning such as attacks on politicians’ wealth can feel tone-deaf when people are grappling with financial hardship”; the neoliberal Australian opposition’s proposal to ban WFH has been described as ’lazy’, bad for working women and carers, and Trumpian; a critique and criticism of Australia’s mutual obligation abuses; in a rare, possibly significant, and likely encouraging victory, the conviction of three pro-democracy activists who organised an annual vigil in remembrance of the 1989 Tiananmen Square “crackdown” for refusing to provide information to police has been overturned by Hong Kong’s top court; the USA is going to try moving officially into cybercurrency ... ; a warning to politicians to pay attention to the difference between manufactured and real rage; a consideration of what if our nuclear subs don’t turn up ...
From a spiritual perspective: the nastiness is growing, but the courage, strength, and organisation of resistance is also growing.
On the resistance to fascism:
- everything in my candles that applies (may all resistance be non-violent and BPM properly informed of and responsive to legitimate grievances that led to this situation);
- “What might happen if Putin and [the USA's President] fall out, as is likely?” https://youtu.be/m8vVwtOYQAg “There are precedents for dictators making friendships of convenience until they decide to fall out, when the human cost of that happening is horrendous. Is that possible in the case of Putin and [the USA's President]?” by Richard J Murphy
- “The [USA’s executive]-M_-Putin manosphere” https://robertreich.substack.com/p/the-[the_USA’s_executive]-musk-putin-manosphere “... inhabit what’s been termed the “manosphere” — a place where the main events are dominance and submission. The whole point is to humiliate weaker men — and to subjugate women. Women — especially women of colour — have distinguished themselves in standing up to [the USA's President], maybe because they’re less intimidated by him than are many men, and because [the USA's President] has shown himself particularly fearful of strong women. ... it’s important to understand the centrality of male dominance and misogyny to [the USA's President]’s world — and to connect this to what other authoritarians and neofascists are doing around the globe. ... Anything that challenges the traditional heroic male roles of protector, provider, and controller of the family is considered a threat to the social order. LGBTQ+ people are believed to weaken the heroic male.”

- “How does Russia's military spending compare to Europe?” https://youtu.be/rxq-TvgNCBU (transcript) “How big a military power is Russia actually? The IISS and the Financial Times recently claimed that Russia's military spending is bigger than all of Europe's combined. Others say that Russia is a mediocre power with an economic potential comparable to Italy. Which is true? I dissect the numbers and explain the significance of purchasing power when comparing defence spending. On one hand, the IISS numbers are problematic, but on the other hand, Europe is still in deep trouble and needs to increase defence spending dramatically.” A very good, nuanced analysis (which goes beyond the PPP vs absolute $ debate to include frontline forces, suitability of equipment, etc) by Anders Puck Nielsen

Remember: we generally need to be more human being rather than human doing, to mind our Mӕgan, and to acknowledge that all misgendering is an act of active transphobia/transmisia that puts trans+ lives at risk & accept that all insistence on the use of “trans” as a descriptor comes with commensurate use of “cis” as a descriptor to prevent “othering” (just as binary gendered [men’s and women’s] sporting teams are either both given the gender descriptor, or neither).#PsychicABetterWorld and may all that I do be of value and actively BPM used for and by the nonphysical BPM
