After reaading this:
“‘Plot twist - I’m still a fat person!’: meet the people proving you can be fit at any size” https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2025/mar/29/im-still-a-fat-person-meet-the-people-proving-you-can-be-fit-at-any-size “In the age of Ozempic and extreme dieting, slimness is still prized over any other body shape – but you don’t have to shrink your frame in order to be powerful, supple and healthy ... “There has been an awful lot of focus on weight-loss goals as a motivation to exercise, and that is not borne out in the research,” says Scott. “People in bigger bodies rarely become people in smaller bodies: about 5% manage it.” And yet, she says, “health outcomes can be improved through exercise regardless of the size of our body. So it is about focusing on other health and wellbeing goals – like getting outside, overcoming isolation and improving mental health – rather than waist size and weight.” ... after signing up for a gym’s transformation challenge, which left her “incredibly disordered, with very extreme eating and exercise habits. And then I realised that, actually, this isn’t healthy at all for me.” Taking part left her “incredibly fit, but my body hurt all the time. I got down to a size 10, but all the instructors there were like: ‘Keep going, you’re nearly there.’ I don’t think my body could get any smaller. I was the smallest I’d ever been, but I was also the unhealthiest.”” This is an excellent article which discusses fatphobia (especially amathiac doctors with egregiously unmanaged unconscious [and conscious] bias), the benefits of (sustained) exercise - especially mental health (irrespective of size), the DANGERS of being thin and inactive, a sensible commentary on the risks associated with being overweight, and the problem of over-sexualisation
I started to wonder:
do people seek expert guidance on aspects of their life so that aspect will genuinely be better, or to improve their social status - aka, ability to “fit in” or be accepted?
Or maybe a bit of both?
Anything connected with the second aspect is cause for consideration of shadow work and/or professional, conventional counselling with a view to improved self understanding (“Know Thyself”) and the ability to then make conscious decisions about what one wishes to be.
Possible flaws
Where I can, I will try to highlight possible flaws / issues you should consider:
- there may be flawed logical arguments in the above: to find out more about such flaws and thinking generally, I recommend Brendan Myers’ free online course “Clear and Present Thinking”;
- I could be wrong - so keep your thinking caps on, and make up your own minds for yourself.

Remember: we generally need to be more human being rather than human doing, to mind our Mӕgan, and to acknowledge that all misgendering is an act of active transphobia/transmisia that puts trans+ lives at risk & accept that all insistence on the use of “trans” as a descriptor comes with commensurate use of “cis” as a descriptor to prevent “othering” (just as binary gendered [men’s and women’s] sporting teams are either both given the gender descriptor, or neither).#PsychicABetterWorld and may all that I do be of value and actively BPM used for and by the nonphysical BPM
