I will try to add CWs here, but that will take some time.

Do the limits set in the brains of mediums and sitters contribute to the apparent bias towards Christianity/neochristianity? A particularly pertinent question in light of come comments by the Frenchman Alan Kardec, in "The Spirits Book".

There is a way of thinking that is aimed at helping people cope with situations in life by being dispassionate, and that way of thinking is based on the saying "It's not personal". In many circumstances, that is absolute, utter and complete rubbish - and acknowledging the emotions and dealing with them constructively, or acknowledging the personal nature of attacks being made upon oneself (including psychic attack) can be vital in terms of both coping effectively with the situation, and also dealing with the situation as it should be, spiritually, for the Highest Spiritual Good, or in a BPLF way - which may require people to try to prevent a repetition of the problem situation/behaviour.
Also, a few thoughts about the difficulty of getting others to listen, the saying “we train others how to treat us” - which is particularly apt in light of the original saying I commenced consideration of in this post :) , and being self congratulatory rather than professional.

As an exercise from a development group I was sitting in at the time (and have left now), we all prepared “Emergency Action Plans”. Not a bad idea - this is mine, which includes a little on the basic skills of flaming, shielding and grounding.

I don’t find water or running water a barrier to magick - in fact, some of the best places for doing magick are near waterfalls, and my shamanism includes merging with water for travel and using water to carry or receive messages. Running water has an energy, often cleansing unless polluted, but the effects of that need to be considered in terms of its strength in comparison to other energy sources.

The flaw that too many people in Pagan/spiritual/New Age/alternative movements have of being afraid or anti- things being organised or even, at times, a little hierarchical. This stupid attitudes is completely counter to any form of advanced or genuinely serious working, such as rescuing uncooperatives.

A note that there will be a coming guest post on this topic (I’m still waiting, actually - sorry), and a few thoughts on doing magick without focus tools, and that sometimes just ‘being’ can be enough to have a constructive effect on Reality - provided you’ve done the work required to allow that to happen first!

A refinement of my thoughts on this topic based on the errors I had been making of conflating ‘spiritual’ and ‘psychic’, and "engaging with" with "indulging or living in".

A whinge about the problem of people not applying what they learn to make the world a better place - they tend too often to use it only to make themselves ‘better’, and miss the inherent selfishness of that approach.

This is where I started kicking off the consideration of this topic under this phrase, and the post goes back to the source that inspired me: "Briefing for the Landing on Planet Earth" by Stuart Holroyd (Pub. Corgi, 1979; ISBN 10: 0552109975, ISBN 13: 9780552109970).

My take on this badly misnamed 50 year old style of attempting to communicate and some of its flaws. Overall, however, it is “good – in fact, brilliant”. Finally, a few reading links including some on the olympic games (which don’t merit capitals, in my view).

A comment that, contrary to what is often found in New Age/personal growth/spiritual movements, sometimes it is possible to learn constructively from negative experiences … even if that is just to avoid being burned again but leavened with a few comments about TEEMs and past life regressions to sometimes help deal constructively with negative experiences. Also, the extent to which training and practice are needed.

Some thoughts about growth orientation stimulated by a psychological drama about people completely failing to deal with or resolve issues (I haven’t include the film’s title – it doesn’t deserve the publicity), with some contrasting perspectives/examples of how to successfully handle such issues from the Richard Bach book "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" and – allegedly – Gautama Buddha, and some thoughts from me about the pragmatic need, at times, to keep functioning to avoid losing one’s home etc and the general failure of attempts to blackmail the Universe. Finally a few reading links including a couple I disagree with (including an explanation as to why I do).

A dream which led to reflections on the benefits of genuineness rather than bigness when celebrating, and doing the celebrating for things that are meaningful to the person concerned rather than when society says we should. Also, what energy gets put into something that is being built by possibly grumpy workers? How does that intersect with people – future residents and current builders - having differing levels of energy and sensitivity they have? Finally, is a component of the problems on the roads due to … stupidity?

Good and bad films, including the watering down of the damage done by the crusades in some films, the unjust vilification of wolves and a perspective on them from the point of view of spirit rescue. Comments include the importance of non-physical strength and the furphy that special words, formulae or rituals can perform amazing results without adequate practice, development, preparation and effort on the part of the person using them.

A review of Katherine Kerr's Deverry and Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files series from the point of view of real world magick, and some general comments about "Rubicon", by Tom Holland and the high position given to economic competitiveness in our society and the damage done by economic rationalists and the loss of our humanity and/or perspective. My rearrangement of my Blogiography, and my current world energy assessment.

Links on health, finding oneself, energy balls, supporting those affected by disability, the importance of social connectedness, discrimination, suicide by train, Barack Obama, conflicts, a surprisingly nice story about Catholics - which included a warning about avoiding some sections of them, Facebook, the social dangers of ‘putting all one’s eggs in one basket’, social fears, diet, over-parenting and road safety.

A new invention I’ve created (as an artificer) for keeping my neighbourhood psychically safe and balanced, and some reading which led to thoughts about fictionalised ‘Laws of Magic’, and also about soul growth, mistakes and evil. I end with a few reading links about standing up to sexism, bullying, various attempts at activism, effectively managing drug problems, politician’s morality, riots and the demise of the ‘fair go’, economy and politics.
