Blogiography - post details: Vol. 7 (posts 218 - 250; Feb.- Mar. 2011) [Content Warning: some posts may have content warnings - reader discretion is advised]
An
acknowledgement of a change of attitude I have, away from always engaging with
the world to manifest one’s spirituality to admitting the importance of having
a rest occasionally, which means withdrawing, to some extent, from the world.

Another
rant instigated by the nongs on The L
Word (although some of the characters later in the series are not nongs at
all), expanded into a consideration of why we all say, at times, foolish things
(such as telling a diabetic that honey is healthy).

My
experience is that more people than are acknowledged want to be helpful, or
want to even be some sort of hero. This brief post points out ways to do so in
everyday mundane, warfare-free life.

Carlos
Castenada wrote about a series of exercises called ‘tensegrity’, which he
explained as stirring energy that had become stagnant and sunk to the lower
parts of the aura. I consider it may actually be effective (where it is
effective - presumably, as with all things, it won’t work for everyone) because
it stimulates the earth Star Chakra.

As a
first point, please make sure you’ve read the title correctly: the beginning

the end of the beginning or the beginning of the end :)

My
thoughts on the modern expression of asceticism (in the sense of a simpler
lifestyle), the purpose of art, getting to know one’s parallels / unconscious, a
film relevant to the topic of forgiveness, the thought that when we die we may
well find the answers to many ‘mysteries’ that intrigue us (especially the
conspiracy theory adherents) in life, is the word ‘change’ more appropriate
than the word ‘learning’, the leavening of civilisations, does the word ‘greed’
better express to the modern world what Alice A Bailey was trying to describe
with the word ‘glamour’ almost a century ago, and the control that can be
exerted over people by leaving short and useless phone messages.

In the
days when I was still sailing, I had a personal “no idiots” policy: I declined
to crew for people who I considered idiots - which is not about the knowledge
they do or do not have, but about how open they are to learning, and about
their behaviour towards me. I consider the majority of the characters being
portrayed in this drama series to be idiots - more in the schoolyard sense,
though, which is appropriate as much of the behaviour was, in my opinion,
infantile - what would be found on a school yard. I do not know ANY lesbian who
is like any of the idiots in this series.
I end
the post with a summary of what I consider relevant spiritual principles.

Following
listening to a radio programme about “room for improvement” in the way that
disasters are managed, a few thoughts of mine, influenced also by the emphasis
on households preparing for cyclones when I was a kid growing up in Queensland.
(Sadly, it appears those public announcements were scrapped because the bloody
tourist industry was scared that tourists would be put off coming … which is
another case of dollars being put ahead of lives and wellbeing, in my opinion.

Some thoughts triggered
by a reasonably good film about reincarnation (including a note that the late,

mine on dimensions (including more pursed lip disapproval of the inane crap
spouted about fourth, fifth etc dimensional), more inane views being expressed by
others on weight gain, divorcing one’s old age from being focused on family, working

Many of us tend to absorb
that which is around us (depending on how self aware we are). This means that
those in a teaching situation need to be extra aware of the cues set by their
behaviour – the example they set in mien and manner, not just what was meant. This
also applies if others see you as an example, whether you want to be that or
not …

This post is about my
view that much of what we do aims to entertain us out of desperate fear of
being bored, including the extremely high placement that family is given by
many people in our societies – and officially, by many cultures. Is this a case
of negative attention or occupation of time is better than being bored?! Or is
it fear of hearing the Universe …
