Post No. 3,225 - Shambala Warriors, economic activism, and work on the new offerings is progressing

This is a multiple purpose post, beginning with a short video on YouTube that I found quite interesting, and consider may be of use to others as well: 

• “Joanna Macy on the Shambala Warrior Prophecy”   https://youtu.be/Uc42aNYo8vw   The Shambala warriors have weapons of compassion and “insight into the radical interdependence of all phenomena”, and “... this is not a war between the good guys and the bad guys, but that the line between good and evil runs through the landscape of every human heart”      

 

Next is another activism email: 

While I agree with the sentiment of the Productivity Commission chair that young people of today will likely experience worse lives than their parents (see https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2025/aug/18/young-australians-may-endure-worse-lives-than-parents-danielle-wood-productivity-commission-chair-warns), I disagree as to the cause and the cure. 

The greatest causes of that will be the climate crisis, which has the potential to disrupt our current economic systems, and inequality. 

The cure to the first is to decarbonise our economy: if we adopt growth based on provision of services and renewable energy, we will be addressing that part of the problem in a way that is, contrary to anything the hidebound Treasury "experts" think or say, sustainable. 

I get concerned that Treasury and the Productivity Commission are viewing all problems as nails to hit with the hammer of what they were taught decades ago - which is now outmoded. Overcoming that is, in my opinion, the role of Members of Parliament, drawing on their broader perspective and greater human skills. 

With regard to inequality, I suspect our largest manageable issue is the excessive and solely greed-driven power that corporations now have. Reducing that power, whether by breaking large organisations up or restoring the power of everyday workers and people to criticise and campaign against harmful acts by corporations (including newspapers), or enabling a change of the driving forces by allowing corporations to make environmental sustainability, climate, and human issues such as DEI EQUALLY as important and legally required as financial matters, is going to help all people. 

No reply to this email is necessary. 

When you consider your elected representatives (in those nations that have such) are either doing something wrong, or are not quite on point, let them know - politely, and as persuasively as you can. 

But also remember to let them know when they do something right - ESPECIALLY if they are being criticised for it, which is what I did this morning, to encourage the government of my nation to continue to support recognition of Palestine.

Where I can, I will try to highlight possible flaws / issues you should consider: 

• there may be flawed logical arguments in the above: to find out more about such flaws and thinking generally, I recommend Brendan  Myers’ free online course “Clear and Present Thinking”;  
• I could be wrong - so keep your thinking caps on, and make up your own minds for yourself.
