Post No. 3,214 - Reflections on the past week, and some interesting reading/viewing [Content Warning - oppression/bigotry/hate/violence/abuse/war. Reader discretion is advised]

Matters for reflection :

From my SubStack channel:    “Ethics”   https://musingsofgnwmythr.substack.com/p/ethics   “including how our religion interacts with the world”

A rebuttaloof ridiculousoclaims that because someone did wrong, it allowsoothers to do that wrong also;      a complaint about those ripping off people trying to learn Wicca;      a consideration of leadership (and other matters);      a consideration on energy;

 Some llinks that might be of interest or value:

Note: CONTENT WARNING - some of this content is about upsetting, disturbing or triggering events & attitudes. Seek competent help - including professional - if you need it. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander readers are advised that linked articles may contains names and/or images of deceased people. READER CAUTION IS RECOMMENDED! For anyone distressed by anything in this post, or for any other reason considering seeking support, resources are available in Australia here, here, and here. In other nations, you will have to do an Internet search using terms such as mental health support - <your nation>(which, for instance, may lead to this, this, and this, in the USA, or this, this, and this, in France [biased towards English-language - my apologies]), or perhaps try https://www.befrienders.org/

Remember:   #PsychicABetterWorld   and   nonphysical health, strength and wellbeing

The purposes of this post’s news section include:

(1) to provide information, including news, which may be of interest, value, or use to Readers;

(2) to identify both BPM and nonBPM opportunities to do the work of this blog (particularly clearing nonBPM nonphysical  units,   BPM  healing,   and   BPM  strengthening of BPM units - the news items helps draw in/helps me find those people and other units in need of any of the help I can provide);   and

(3) to help engage and frame my emotional, mental, and other nonphysical (psychic, spiritual, Higher Self, BPM  Guides, etc) aspects both for doing my weekly PWR and for doing the work that flows from the PWR - which may also occur for some others.

Some of the news information will likely be distressing - hence the content warning, to allow people to choose times they have high energy and/or are in a good state to view these, or to ensure they have access to support resources if they may be triggered, or to choose to either temporarily or permanently skip viewing this post or the News sections, as is best for their health and wellbeing.

Within the news section, I generally try to identify what is considered “good” news in green, possibly also with green background, but owing to time, energy, and health limitations, may not always be able to do so. Similarly, I generally try to show editorial comments by me in this shade of blue (quotes are in this shade of blue) - and for the times I miss doing so, you should keep your thinking cap on.

 News :

Noting the excellent daily aggregation of global news links at   https://everythingbriefing.substack.com/

On the existential climate crisis and nuclear threats this week:

A call for the wealthiestopeople to pay forotheodamageothey do to theoenvironment and their causativeocontributionotootheoclimateocrisis;      an analysis of how a notoriouspforeign ownedpminingpcompany promisedpAustralia billions inptaxprevenue but has not delivered;      “Australia’s biggest battery now on standby to prevent NSW power blackouts”;      a detailed assessment of theoplasticsoproblem, and theounderminedoattempts to createoaoglobalotreaty;      there is a risk of a new nuclear arms race between the USA and Russia;      staggering deforestation in Qld;      following a court order for a $2 billion clean up, an interview titled “The Corporate Cover-Up & Fightback Against PFAS, “Forever Chemicals”” (it should also be kept in mind that PFAS was widely used because of its consumer convenience and actual [firefighting] benefits, benefits which do NOT outweigh the human health, as well as environmental, damage);      “Brazil’s president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, has signed into law a controversial bill that scientists and environmentalists had dubbed the “devastation bill”, but vetoed key articles that would have in effect dismantled the country’s environmental licensing system”;

In the global war against f_sc_sm (and “producerism”)  - which is fought wherever we are (note the advice/examples/guidance on resistance here, here, here, here, here, here, here, this [on the efficacy of nonviolent protest], this book, this book, this, and thesethis week:

“An epicoanalysis [by someone who is “pessimistic about the future ... [but] ... optimistic about people”] of 5,000 years ofocivilisation argues that a globalocollapse isocoming unlessoinequalityois vanquished” - this covers manyocrucialopoints/aspects, and proposesosolutions;       a consideration of failed political models and what sort of politics people want leads to a suggestion for “a politics of care (I consider New Zealand’s wellness  budget, brought in by Jacinta Ardern’s government, is an early example of that) - see also this post of mine;      evidence as to why and how neoliberal behaviour abuses us”;      reasons for hope;

Africa is a testing ground for China’s so-called Global Security Initiative (launched in 2022) which is “one of a series of Chinese initiatives aimed at reshaping global governance structures to create a conducive environment for China’s resurgence as a Great Power” - see also this, on Chinese influence in the UK;       a Brazilian judge has identified (correctly, IMO) US actions against him as an attack on that nation’s democracy;      how war became a route to growth for the west;      Australians are pushing back against ‘authoritarian’ anti-protest laws in ‘a return to the spirit of the 60s’”;

“Nothing makes any sense any more – and that might be deliberate;

Items of concern/note (and associated resistance/actions) in/regarding the USA and their Autocrat-in-Chief (AIC), noting this on “a slight change of activist focus”, include:

Democrat candidates who support the sort of bold progressive economic agenda overwhelmingly supported by workers are showing the national US Democratic Party - currently seen as “weak and ineffective” by many of its members - how to win back and HELP working class voters;

  • “Anatomy of a Red Scare”   https://jewishcurrents.org/anatomy-of-a-red-scare   “As the [AIC’s] administration escalates its anti-radical crackdowns, past moments of repression offer a preview of what’s to come.”   and   “... the fight against rising racial fascism in the United States was inextricable from an end to racialised and colonial oppression everywhere. As the “We Charge Genocide” petition put it, “The lyncher and the atom bomber are related   ...   The struggle against today’s “lyncher and atom bomber” includes, for example, linking the genocide in Gaza with ICE raids at home”

the AIC considers he is entitled to a bigger gerrymander in his favour (currently being blocked by Democrats using a tactic the Republicans have also used) in one US state - which would have major impacts and lead to retaliatory measures in other states;       a warning that the AIC and his cultists plan to stay forever;      the AIC’s current steps to block truth using these four steps have been described as Orwellian in the extreme. The era of the Ministry of Truth has arrived”;

Some of the descendants of Jews who fled the n_ z_s in Germany are now fleeing the AIC, back to Germany;       the USA is now on CIVICUS’s Watchlist for its declining civic space;      the AIC’s Department of Legal Operations (formerly Justice) is trying to get voter details from states ... and is investigating conspiracy fantasies (see also this, on internal discontent);      a doorbell surveillance company has sold out to fascism and is enabling police and ICE breaches of privacy;      another attack on US lives and wellbeing by the extremist in charge of their “health” department;      more  concerns about the AIC’s mental state;      a former US resident now recognises why the US media uses propaganda to try to convince others in the USA that it is not “fifty third world countries in a trench coat”;      an examination of the AIC’s latest unconstitutional, hate-based and hate-filled passing thought / distraction / POSSIBLY real announcement (this one on the census);      an appalling misuse of power;

a reminder that the victim-survivors of the dead trafficker are being massively affected by the current arguments over his (investigation? personal records? both?) files and the concessions to his convicted CSA/sex trafficker partner;

  • Acts of revenge this week include:  this (see also this);
  • Acts of resistance this week include:  thisthisthis;

§   On migration, border control, rendition, deportations, and associated legal matters,  a notorious US state is looking to build another “Alligator A_______z”;      an examination of the agreement with three African nations to accept renditions as the agreement for Costa Rica to accept renditions is criticised;

Items of concern/note (and associated resistance/actions) in/regarding Ukraine/Russia (et al) include:

The restorationoofotheoindependence of anti-corruption offices lacks one crucial element (see here for an example of the need for anti-corruption work - and here for a commentary on the economic changes that will be needed after the war);       Zelens'kyi’s “trust rating drops to 58% after anti-corruption agencies scandal”;      recruitment officers will have to start wearing body cameras;

The Netherlands will provide over half a billion dollars of US weapon systems, including Patriot missiles, to Ukraine -oNATOowill coordinate much of this (see also this and this);       a reminderothatothe villagesonearoKyiv also come under attack;      reports claim Ukraine has obtained classified details of Russia’s latest submarine;      the EU will enforce improved oil sanctions against Russia in the form of a dynamic, rather than a static, cap on Russian oil prices;      an opinion that the USA’s AIC (aka TACO) “hasoallotheocardsoto stopoRussia’s war againstoUkraine. Now, he needs to use them”;      an assessment of (theoirrelevanceoof) the likely meetingobetween Putin andotheoUSA’s AIC (ho-hum ... I agree this will notoleadotooanythingouseful in Russia’s war against Ukraine: it is aboutoflattering andocomforting the AIC’soego);

an exposé by an independent geopolitical analyst (who is also a Christian pastor) of the moralodecayoofoRussiao-oESPECIALLY the Russian Orthodox “church”;      another reminder that Putin will not end his war in Ukraine as that would threaten his own survival;      blatanto(genocidal)ochild trafficking by Russia);      Russia has abandoned itsounilateralomoratorium on the deploymentoof short- and intermediate-range missile in response to recent US actions, calling for caution on nuclear rhetoric after the USA’s AIC allegedly orderedotheorepositioning of nuclearosubmarines (there are questions about whether this would actually make any significant difference considering the missiles on the US submarines and how many subs the USA has);      claims Russia is using mercenaries from Asia and Africa (I consider some of those fighting are from the locations reported, but I suspect some may have been duped - e.g., African students, as has been previously reported);      Russia has increased its mobilisation, and Ukraine may follow suit;      Russia is facing food shortages - and its third month of declining revenue from fossils;

An assessment that Russia’s next war might be with China - over land grabs by Russia that were part of the consequences of the evil Opium Wars of Britain (at the request of a for profit company - which is a particularly vicious example of state capture) against China. The assessment includes:

  • very clear and direct commentary on China’s advocacy for misdirection and stealth in it’s training on military tactics and how they have been used, and might be using Taiwan now for that purpose (and their joint navy drills, perhaps?)
    as well as
  • Russia’s appalling history of savage colonialist abuses in Siberia, which might incline Siberians towards being welcoming;
  • the conflicts fought between Russia and China in these areas in the 1960s (as well as the fact that China has just quietly occupied an island of major military significance); and
  • China’s major needs for energy - which is why it has rejected US demands to stop buying Russian (and Iranian) oil (as has India)

This assessment was well thought out and presented, and is, IMO, sound. I had thought Taiwan might be used as a distraction for action on the Indian-Chinese occupied Tibetan border, but the scenario presented has much stronger drivers.

On other international affairs/political news matters this week:

Items of concern/note (and associated resistance/actions) in/regarding West Asia include:

As a far right government Ministerzwith a history ofzprovocation does more  provoking,   the state of anzIsraelizhostage causes family pain and public outrage,   an activist in thezWestzBank is slain by colonisers and mourned,   dozens morezPalestinianszseeking aid are killednbynIsraelinforces,   and   Slovenia bans weapons sales tonIsrael,   HUNDREDS of formernIsraeli security officials call on the USA to end the war;      a call for new Jewish institutions;      Israel is using a USotechocompanyoto storeoitsointerceptedoPalestinian phoneocalls;      viable cropland in Gaza is now down to 1.5% ... ;

Israelqisohidingothe impact that Iranianoattacks during their recent war had;

For context, a map of the nations that alreadyorecogniseoPalestine and those that plan to (maybe) as the UK’sqPrimeqMinister is criticisedoforocolonialoarrogance and for failing to choose between Palestineoandothe USA;       meanwhile, Australia’s Foreign Minister has criticisedoIsrael’soconduct in Gaza and said there will be no Palestine left to recognise unless the world works togetheroon a TwooState solution as a state branch of the governing political party votes for recognition and over 200,000 Australians marched across the Sydney Harbour Bridge inosupport of Gazanso(who were moved by the event) - and there was also a march in Melbourne which was blocked by police (and there was also a march in Tunisia), but alsooantisemitic graffiti;      concerns that a claimed statistic on antisemitism in Canada has no known basis;      blatant Islamophobia in Spain, and possible anti-Palestinian bias at an Australian University;      Scotland will consider imposing a state boycott on Israel, possibly “in the mould of the anti-apartheid boycott of South Africa”;      “a Jewish cantor facing backlash for calling Israel's actions in Gaza genocide, argues he feels morally compelled to speak this truth for the sake of children who will one day judge how their elders responded to what he views as clear human rights violations”;

noting this assessment of possible actions, an opinion that Israel’sqannounced consideration of complete ethnic cleansingqofqGaza shows USqduplicity, an alleged reason for delayed recognitionoofoPalestine, and confirmation that this wasqIsrael’sqintent “all along” (I agree with the first point, not the second, and the third only applies to some [a hardline minority] in the Israeli government - not necessarily all).   This has been followed up by a forced displacement order from Israel, which is opposed by the IDF (where Netanyahu is making more enemies by the day), which has been followed up by Netanyahu stating Israel will take complete military control of Gaza, refuse to govern (which is the DUTY of occupying powers), and then hand it over to an Arab force (that no doubt meets Netanyahu’s notions of “satisfactory” ... )   ...   this also creates risks for the remaining hostages - to the anger and horror of their relatives and the outrage of the world;

Columbia has accused Peru of annexing a disputed island in the Amazon River;      Russia has asked the CAR to pay to replace informal Russian military in that nation with formal Russian military;      “UN expert criticises US rollback of Myanmar sanctions as ‘unconscionable’;      Australia has objected to China about harassment by China of people in Australia;      refugees forcibly returned to Afghanistan have been abused, including torture;      “Eight bat researchers mostly from Asia and Africa refused entry into Australia to attend global scientific event   Organisers say move will damage nation’s scientific standing as government refuses to comment on why group of scientists were refused entry” (this is likely for security reasons, which are kept secret secret for reasons including valid reasons, and, speaking generically, NOT about these eight, may well be for spying risks or past wrong doing [such as unindicted mass atrocity crimes] by people, but the problem is: Australian government departments have a long history of white supremacism, racism, misogyny, sexism, and failing to understand other cultures, so there are grounds for doubt. This also means this conference will, in future, be held elsewhere - which is our loss);

§   On the USA’s AIC’s tariff war,   an assessment of the USA’s racist tariffs;

On human rights matters:

a human rights group has reported that a social media platform allegedly “amplified anti-migrant violence in UK after 2024 Southport stabbings”;       torture and denial of healthcare in prisons in Burma/Myanmar;

militia attacks have forced thousands of women farmers off their land in Nigeria;      sexual harassment allowed within political parties in India;      criticism of how sexual misconduct investigation was undertaken within the ICC;      the court system in Afghanistan has been weaponised against women;

“28 LGBTIQ+ groups have signed a statement rejecting rising divisive politics seeking to discriminate against trans women”;       an Australian christo-fascist group is attacking LGBTQIASB+ groups as part of an ostensibly child protection online campaign;

“Garma festival sees pressure put on federal government to tie NT funding to Indigenous outcomes”;

On societal and governance matters:

The forthcomingoageoverification requirements for social media specificallyobanouse ofogovernment-issued ID - which is good for security in the sense of preventing loss of key information, but raises the risk of potential scams: “Professor Toby Murray from the University of Melbourne's School of Computing and Information Systems said it's "not impossible" scammers will try to impersonate social media companies and trick users into uploading personal documents”;      arts and media groups demand Labor take a stand against ‘rampant theft’ of Australian content to train AI   Productivity Commission report raises possible exemption for ‘text and data mining’ and expanding fair dealing rules, prompting fierce pushback;      a social media platform is suspending Australian businesses for no clear reason;      Workplace gender segregation ‘a handbrake’ on Australia’s economy, major new pay gap report reveals   Jobs and Skills Australia deputy commissioner says upcoming economic reform roundtable must tackle economic inequality facing women”;      “the legality of the system designed to penalise jobseekers has been thrown into doubt after the commonwealth ombudsman found a government department’s automatic system unlawfully cancelled payments”;      the nuances of going digital in remote and rural areas;      my home state could soon have the right to work two days a week at home - which announcement was met by some spectacularly out-of-touch slavering amathia from the far right on LinkedIn;      a wave of correcting CVs to remove lies about qualifications - and one resignation (so far) - in Spain;      “NSW police officers jailed for assaulting woman suffering mental health episode during welfare check” - their conduct was appalling, and their sentence deserved. The other question to now be considered is: why did NSW police training and systems fail so spectacularly, and what is being done to fix it?;

From a spiritual perspective:   defend the right to dissent, and be kind and advocate for kindness

Remember: we generally need to be more human being rather than human doing, to mind our Mӕgan, and to acknowledge that all misgendering is an act of active transphobia/transmisia that puts trans+ lives at risk & accept that all insistence on the use of “trans” as a descriptor comes with commensurate use of “cis” as a descriptor to prevent “othering” (just as binary gendered [men’s and women’s] sporting teams are either both given the gender descriptor, or neither).
