In my time writing this blog, I have written about a number of ... "orientations" - such as growth orientation, life orientation, mention of s_xo__l orientation, spiritual orientation, and input orientation (i.e., are you more sensitive towards internal [psychic, psychological] or external [sensory] stimuli, are you more sensitive [as in, react to and/or affected by] BPM or nonBPM - or urban areas/the World of Nature).
That last one leads in to what I want to write about in this post, but first ... I wish to briefly touch on where we get energy/a sense of reward from - which is not necessarily easily accomplished, nor the same for everyone.
For neurodivergent people, it is a struggle to get dopamine rewards from the sorts of everyday activities that are rewarding for neurotypical people.
A perhaps more familiar example for many people is the introvert/extravert divide - which also needs to include ambiverts. To simplify, extraverts are likely to feel energised by mixing with people, introverts are more likely to recover their energies by times with a few or even no people, and ambiverts could be either or both, possibly changing over time or depending on circumstances.
Differences in ways of learning also probably illustrate this point.
In terms of this post, I was thinking about a difference between being energised/healed/inspired more by interactions with people (friendship, BPM family, connections with humans and/or other forms of Life/Sentient Life - including pets, and Nature), or by principles - such as responsibility, critical thinking, duty, etc.
There is overlap between these two - particularly with love, empathy, and compassion ... depending, to some extent, on the form of those.
Interpersonal love (of a partner, or family member) is different to an agape style love that is focused on all humanity, or all life, or all of the planet - or larger.
To the first group of people, their principles are likely to place caring for people above matters such as duty, responsibility, etc, but the second group are more likely - not so much as to place above, as to see duty, responsibility, etc as an expression of love that has more priority than the personal/interpersonal forms of love.
Some could see these as being linked, with each being a form of Bhakti yoga, or agape, perhaps.
I could call this principle orientation or, maybe, scale of focus orientation ... which I will now spend some time contemplating and meditating on, and see if it leads anywhere 😊
Possible flaws
Where I can, I will try to highlight possible flaws / issues you should consider:
- there may be flawed logical arguments in the above: to find out more about such flaws and thinking generally, I recommend Brendan Myers’ free online course “Clear and Present Thinking”;
- I could be wrong - so keep your thinking caps on, and make up your own minds for yourself.

Remember: we generally need to be more human being rather than human doing, to mind our Mӕgan, and to acknowledge that all misgendering is an act of active transphobia/transmisia that puts trans+ lives at risk & accept that all insistence on the use of “trans” as a descriptor comes with commensurate use of “cis” as a descriptor to prevent “othering” (just as binary gendered [men’s and women’s] sporting teams are either both given the gender descriptor, or neither).
#PsychicABetterWorld and may all that I do be of value and actively BPM used for and by the nonphysical BPM because #KindnessIsThePoint
