I just watched a YouTube video by US historian Tad Stoermer critiquing a new US historical TV series:

The Revolution was effected before the War commenced. The Revolution was in the Minds and Hearts of the People.” ...”
The video is an excellent 13m 50s of explanation and insight - well worth a look, and explains that the real revolution occurred in the hearts and minds of those in "the American colonies" over the period 1760-1775.
And it got me thinking about the times and places this has happened elsewhere as well - such as Australia’s “Sex Discrimination Act” which built on decades of work including women’s consciousness raising in the 1960s, earlier movements to gain women the vote - which took centuries and still continues, and the implementation of TGDNB protections in my home state in the year 2000 - which built on decades of prior work.
And there are many other examples.
And we could do with another revolution now, here in Australia.
And that revolution needs to happen in the hearts and minds of people in Australia who feel they are comfortable because they are members of “the middle class”, “the majority”, or have social status. That revolution of hearts and minds needs to get them to understand that this does NOT make them safe - it makes them controllable through fear of being cast out for difference if they lose the suppression of their individuality that they probably don’t even realise they are doing. It makes them vulnerable to the sort of actions happening in the US in the worst case, but it also makes them vulnerable to the vagaries of social and authority perceptions, moods of the day, fads & fashions, and changes of personal opinion.
It makes them part of all ongoing bigotry, but they probably don’t care about that.
That false sense of security with the established order must change if we are to become a better society ...
There are some major spiritual lessons here as well, but they would detract from my main point, so I'll defer them for now.

Where I can, I will try to highlight possible flaws / issues you should consider:
