Post No. 1,746 - Magickal Battle of the World - Weekly Meditation - Week No. 37 - The spiritual challenges of entangled issues

Black Lives Matter!

Stay safe - wash your hands, practice social distancing and wear a face mask in public, and follow informed medical advice - and be considerate towards those at risk or in situations of vulnerability (including economic) while the COVID-19 pandemic is a problem.

I have been writing about improving the world through a range of means on my blogs: this blog has been focused on spiritual and psychic means, including strengthening  BPM  units and clearing nonBPM units, and meditation to generate BPM energy (and units, if you know enough).

This has been done before - particularly during times of crisis.

The climate crisis has been our World War III for some time (with the denialists being, at the very least, the WW3 equivalents of Quisling, Vichy France, etc), and we now have the COVID-19  pandemic, caused by the zoonotic  SARS-CoV-2  novel coronavirus (there are other novel coronaviruses), on top of that.

World War II was probably the biggest global crisis before our current dual crises, and during those terrible events, there were a number of people undertaking magickal work, including  the work by Dion Fortune (there were others) outlined in the Gareth Knight edited book “The Magical Battle of Britain” (my copy pub. Skylight Press, 2012, ISBN 978-1-908011-45-9), which I reviewed here. Ms Fortune directed her team through a series of 136 weekly and (I think) 19 monthly meditations (I originally intended to publish a list at some stage, but it’s so long and comprehensive that I’m concerned about breaching copyright, so I may either see if I can find an online list, or publish something listing the broad themes only). At the end of this, she was exhausted, and that work is considered to have contributed to her death, but a change for the better had been accomplished.

We already have a lot of people doing a lot of work on making the world a better place (including before the current crises - and I’ve found this group working at following [and adapting] Ms Fortune’s techniques and purposes), but I would like to extend my contribution to also include a series of weekly - or near weekly - meditations along the line of those directed by Ms Fortune.

I am proposing this be added to the Sunday meditations which are part of my regular psychic work. For convenience, an outline of the meditation is provided at the end of this post.

The notes on each week’s meditation will probably be brief to the point of being terse.

This Week: No. 37 - The spiritual challenges of entangled issues

Life is not simple - nor, for that matter, are we.

As a simple example of that, consider physical health. Our doctor may tell us to eat better, which may need us to face emotional issues around comfort food and what situations in our life are causing us emotional distress that drives us to eat poorly. Or our doctor may say “exercise more”, but between jobs and caring for others such as children or ill family or friends, we may genuinely not have the time.

Or some well-meaning IPOC may make a, frankly, stupid claim that it doesn’t take much time to eat healthily (convenience food is called that for a reason: it DOES take less time, IPOCs!) when, again, because of work and carer duties one doesn’t have the time.

To implement any one of these steps requires addressing other issues in other aspects of our lives.

Or, let’s say we decide to take up meditation. That may require creating time, or a space, which may require negotiation with others or changes of one’s schedule. One may then come across bad advice saying one should sit cross legged, which may require dealing with physical injuries or problems. One then may be told to be still and focus on something - but that may trigger, say, childhood memories of being sent to the “naughty corner”.

(I often wonder if such fierce advocates for this, that or the other think people who are, say, quadriplegic or paraplegic cannot meditate? One of the exercises I give my students is to do everything facing backwards - which is intended to loosen the focus on our eyes, or to try doing everything with visualisations of sound or scent.)

The complexities multiply exponentially if one starts considering issues that involve multiple people and all their complexities.

As a somewhat facetious example, consider the old joke of trying to organise an annual meeting of an anarchist society. (I once met someone from overseas who did exactly that: the reason people think it is difficult is because their understanding of anarchism as a movement is wrong - I’m not an anarchist, and don’t care enough about that to post a link, so you can do some research if you want to find out more.)

As a more serious example, consider what is involved in lobbying for a law on, say, human rights (see my comments on women’s suffrage in this article, for instance), or to increase international aid, or to prevent a war (see here, for example).

None of those will achieved just by having a massive street march - and the instances where that seems to be the case is because much of the other work has not been reported. (As an example, consider Gandhi’s “constructive programme”, as well as the comprehensive thinking and planning that goes into working for peace.)

So . . . how does one deal with complex, interwoven, entangled matters?

Well, first, one examines oneself to see if one is uncomfortable, overwhelmed, or in any other way experiencing an emotion that is not helpful.

This is important, as fear of complexity is one of the problems that has been identified amongst right wing extremists.

If you experience frustration, fear, or any other emotion, work with it - do shadow work if you know how, or something like the techniques Karla  McLaren advocates, or conventional counselling.

Having attained a state of reasonable comfort, start by observing the situation.

Don’t pre-judge the implications of observations; don’t allow fear to warp or distort your observations; don’t conflate observations and emotions.

Be aware, and as free from judgement (what some call “objective”, but that can be an emotionally judgemental term) as you can, and accept that this is the first step.

  • Something I’ve worked on at times is clearing lantana when it has overrun a neglected area. The idea is that one needs to find the source of the lantana - the root that it all spread from. In doing so, one may clear a patch, thinking it covers the source root, but find it doesn’t.
    Your work is not wasted: you have gained some knowledge of the lantana, and you have cleared some of it.
    You simply absorb the information you have gained, adapt accordingly, and persist.
  • I’ll give you another example, from sailing. Before a race, you may have sailed the course and know where the tidal currents and shifts are, and planned a strategy to take advantage of the favourable currents and shifts, and avoid the unfavourable, but then, in the middle of race, a large commercial vessel sails through the course.
    Now, in the coastal waters I’ve raced in, large commercial ships - which have limited manoeuvrability and depth restrictions - legally have right-of-way. In those circumstances, the rule that power gives way to sail - which does apply to small power vessels - is set aside.
    So, you have no legal basis for expecting a large commercial vessel to get out of your way to allow you to stick to your original plan, they probably couldn’t do so even if you did have that legal right, and their presence is likely to be changing the patterns anyway.
    So, you identify the changes, adapt accordingly, and continue.
  • A third example: business planning.
    The pandemic has shown the utter absurdity and irresponsibility of “just-in-time” planning, but that has absurdity has always been obvious to people who took the to consider issues such as: what if a key team member becomes ill, or what is a transport vehicle is involved in an accident, or what if a disaster like an earthquake or fire occurs?
    It is better to be prepared to adapt to what could occur, even if that is unlikely.
    If you haven’t planned adequately, then you identify what needs to be done, adapt accordingly, and change.

Now, you need to accept that you may not know or understand everything. That doesn’t mean you can’t work with a situation. As an illustration of that, many people do not know how (or the details of how) internal combustion engines work, but they can drive a (polluting) car; others may have limited understanding of chips, programming, or the world wide web, but they can use a PC; others may not know how planes fly, but they can use them for (polluting) travel.

You should, however, be prepared to go on a spiritual or some other form of quest to obtain that information, or level of knowledge, which you do need to achieve a particular goal.

In those cases, the quest itself becomes an important part of this - just as working with emotions may be a crucial first step.

It’s not quite a “the journey is what matters, not the endpoint”, as - in the context of this series of posts - achieving a change is an important aim in itself, as it is part of making the world a better place.

PS - overnight, after I published this, was posted this, by John Beckett, on, amongst other things, the opportunities in what Mr Beckett refers to as "Tower Time". It ties in with this post, and is well worth a read.

No particular sigils this week, and I may not have time/energy to do sigils for other posts in the near future. In some cases, I might come back and provide those in the future.

The Meditation (see here, here, and here) consists of:

 - appropriate and responsible protection (see here, here, here), prayer and ritual (e.g., here) to establish and check protection (re-do the protection, or re-schedule the meditation, if you don’t feel safe and secure);

 - establish a personal connection to your Higher BPM influences;

 - visualise the sigil (see above) for this work. Think of what this work means for you as you do so, then, when you feel you have fully tuned in to the meaning of the sigil, see it as a portal or doorway (you could open it like a door [close it behind you], simply pass through it, visualise yourself shrinking and passing through the centre, or whatever else works best for you), and travel through to to a place created by the visualisation of yourself and others for this work. That place should have:
     (a) a visualisation of the workplace you personally prefer - something you can change, if you wish, as you yourself change;   and
     (b) a shared visualisation of a device to astrally share our knowledge, something developed in a previous project (still active astrally): a visualisation of a large, green, multifaceted emerald. Large: around half the size of the Moon; multifaceted - billions, for all people who wish to be part of this at any time; green - largely tied up with the previous project, but has connotations of nature and growth. One of those facets is yours - choose whatever location and shape you wish (and you may change that as you change [grow] over time), but in the interest of humility and sharing, see it at around human - or human aura - size;

 - flush one’s aura with green (R0, G102, B0), blue (R0, G0, B204) and purple (R153 G0, B204);

 - fill one’s Heart Chakra (and maybe one’s Earth Star, Solar Plexus, Third Eye and Crown Chakras) with green, blue and purple; send a weave of three streams of this colour from the Chakra(s) to the visualised gigantic, multi-faceted emerald through your facet until you see your energy enlivening other areas of the emerald and can feel similar energies flowing back to you;

 - visualise the rune / bindrune (if given - or, on Sunday, the group of symbols provided);

 - generate  feelings of love, peace, joy and respect;

 - strengthen those feelings (energies);

 - radiate those energies to the world for nine to eighteen minutes;

 - then, on Sunday, also perform the additional meditation work for around 15 minutes or so: contemplate the topic, and the spiritual (i.e., nonphysical) implications of it, and seek insights and understanding. Do not be distracted by thoughts of physical actions - those are necessary also, but this exercise is about the nonphysical, in the broadest possible sense, and the focus should be on nonphysical actions, energy flows, symbols, and the like, all with the intention of bringing about a change for the better. As a second stage, if you wish, you can meditate on any physical actions which may be necessary, but get the spiritually focused work done first;

 - when you have finished your work:
     (i) send the thought of any knowledge you wish to store or share through your portal into the group visualised emerald;
     (ii) return back through the sigil; and
     (iii) close your chakras, centre and ground yourself and close your aura, use the banishing version of the LBRP to open circle, ground and release all excess energy; and make sure you are grounded and closed down – eat, if you need to, or seek help from someone capable and trusted.
