Post No. 2,054 - Magickal Battle of the World - Weekly Meditation - Lesson No. 80 - Grand Strategy

Black Lives Matter!
The Climate Crisis is real, urgent and
existential!

Stay safe - wash your hands, practice social distancing and wear a face mask in public, and follow informed medical advice - and be considerate towards those at risk or in situations of vulnerability (including economic).

I have been writing about improving the world through a range of means on my blogs: this blog has been focused on spiritual and psychic means, including strengthening  BPM  units and clearing nonBPM units, and meditation to generate BPM energy (and units, if you know enough). This has been done before - particularly during times of crisis. (See also this excellent analysis on the topic.)

World War II was probably the biggest global crisis before our current situation, and during those terrible events, there were a number of people undertaking magickal work, including Dion Fortune - as outlined in the Gareth Knight edited book “The Magical Battle of Britain” (my copy pub. Skylight Press, 2012, ISBN 978-1-908011-45-9), which I reviewed here. Ms Fortune directed her team through a series of 136 weekly and 19 monthly meditations; at the end of this, she was exhausted and that work is considered to have contributed to her death, but a change for the better had been accomplished.

Coming back to the present, the climate crisis has been our World War III for some time, and we also have the COVID-19  pandemic, caused by the zoonotic  SARS-CoV-2  novel coronavirus (there are other novel coronaviruses), on top of that.

Now, we already have a lot of people doing a lot of work on making the world a better place (including before the current crises - and I’ve found this group working at following [and adapting] Ms Fortune’s techniques and purposes), but I would like to extend my contribution to also include a series of weekly - or near weekly - meditations along the line of those directed by Ms Fortune, work which goes beyond my initial response.

This post is this week’s contribution.

This Lesson: No. 80 - Grand Strategy

We’ve already covered tactics and, to some extent, strategy. Now, that we’ve covered responsibility, I’d like now to do a little more on what is above those two: grand strategy - or how to change the world.

There are a few ways to approach this aim.

One is by imposing change, which is what bad managers, neoliberals, fascists and other right wing extremists, dictators, religious and other fanatics/zealots, violent and other extremists, etc do - and have done throughout history.

The approach I favour is different to that. I favour educating people and encouraging them to see more, be better, and thus create a groundswell of change - which is close to what has been done by many human rights campaigns, such as the abolition of slavery, equal rights for women (or, perhaps more accurately, less unequal), and genocide - when the Genocide  Convention was developed, most of the world was revolted by what the nazis in Germany had done, and there actually was a strong groundswell of support for such measures . . . a groundswell which was slowly eroded over time, partly by forgetfulness, partly by not studying history, and partly by the politics of the Cold War.

Politics is somewhere between the two. Most democracies are representative, not participatory, so there is an “elite” with power, who seek to influence and/or to obtain the favour of voters. Thus there is some potential for education, but that is countered by media that ranges from excellent & outstanding, through indifferent & incompetent, to blatantly biased - as well as the influence of simpletons who cannot handle dissent, subtlety or variety, and the quest for power as an end, rather than a means.

The overwhelming majority of politicians I have met or known have been good people - people who desire to serve the community. The system they work within can be improved by anti-corruption, diversity & inclusion, and participatory aspects.

How to achieve those is by an exercise in education - what used to be termed lobbying until commercial organisations appropriated the term, and now is described as activism.

If we look at the world and its psychic soup:

  • there are people and structures that are coercive, controlling and “harmful” (what I describe as nonBPM), who need to be contained, neutralised and countered by:

o   clearing them and their units, and

o   teaching people about psychic protection and nonphysical health, strength & wellbeing;

  • there are beneficial people and units that should be protected and nurtured - power spots, and people who are advocating for intelligent, aware, non-naïve (agape) love (including those working against the climate crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic); and
  • there is widespread lack of awareness, indifference and suspicion (largely caused by millennia of religiously based social engineering and the conditioning of centuries of successive political empire building) that needs to be countered.

The work of this course and the blog it has been published on fits largely into the first category, and can also be used for the protection and nurturing part of the second.

This course does not address the third and the rest of the second points, although the blog does. In terms of changing the world, this course is intended to give you tools that can be used for those, but more is needed - becoming politically active (or at least not passive), doing what you can against the climate crisis, and so.

There is grand strategy for all those areas, but it us to those involved in those areas to address that - and change can be accomplished by surprisingly small numbers of people.

From my post here:

Erica Chenoweth and Maria J. Stephan have looked at statistical aspects of violent and non-violent campaigns, and found that violent campaigns have ~26% chance of success, but nonviolent campaigns have ~53% chance of success. In their book, “Why Civil Resistance Works” (pub. Amazon), they discuss a number of aspects contributing to this, and one is the size of the campaign, with non-violent campaigns having larger numbers of participants. . . .

Erica Chenoweth’s data is available through her website (at https://www.ericachenoweth.com/research), and I have downloaded two of the sets of data, and done my own analysis of one of the sets of data, with the results tabulated below.

The overall data, based on only those campaigns that were non-violent and had at least partial success, indicates that the average of those movements engaged around 2.6% of the populations they were working in (the book explains some of the restrictions and assumptions of this data), and a median of 0.5% - which I will describe, using a grossly simplification, as being that engaging 0.5% of a group gives you around a 50% chance of success.

However, there are some very large proportions in some of those movements: since I’m interested in the lower end of this proportion, I’ve excluded the larger groups, and it now looks like:

-          average 0.8 - 1.2%, so both Lynne McTaggart and Steven Greer are probably reasonable in the bases that they have adopted;

-          the 50:50 mark is around 0.4 - 0.5%.

Reports on  this work comment that civil resistance movements that engage at least 3.5% of the population have never failed to topple a dictator - so that tells us what the upper limit probably is.

What does all this - particularly the lower percentages - suggest in terms of numbers. Well, see the table below, based on my my nation, my home state, my home city, and a combination of those who decided to identify themselves as Pagan or Wiccan in the 2016 Census (see here).

The optimistic view is that we could need as few as 9,000 people to change the world. My opinion is that it is more realistic to plan on changing smaller groups, and then working up to changing the world. The upper limit is 1 in 28 (i.e., 3.5%) - by that stage, if the work is properly coordinated and organised (and on that, read this book), successful change should be inevitable.

In all cases, patience and persistence is essential - as an example, the fight against slavery has been underway for over two millennia - and it has had enormous success, but evil people keep seeking a way to use that abuse.

So, having covered all those preliminary points, let’s focus on the grand strategy of the work of this course.

Basically, the approach I am suggesting is:

  • build your personal knowledge and skills (especially by practising and preparing);
  • pass on what you know;
  • help others to grow (especially by practising and preparing), and help to build a mass movement “from the ground up”;
  • promote connections (ego is the big enemy here - people being so arrogant they think their way of working is “better”, or “should” predominate / lead - which is a problem very well discussed in Katherine  Kurtz’s Lammas Night);
  • the psychic component of this work, as partly laid out in Lesson 20, is built on:

o   BPM and spiritual evolution;

o   know thyself”;

o   compassion (agape-style love);

o   objectivity;

o   clearing;

o   spirit rescue - of both cooperatives and uncooperatives; and

o   healing;

  • More specific to changing the world:

o   map the psychic energies week to week (see my dowsing course on that);

o   develop the individual and group skills in the weekly exercises that I have included since Lesson 46;

o   watch and assess longer term trends;

o   adapt and change as necessary; and

o   be patient and persistent;

o   Be aware that:

-          There are complex/advanced group minds/thought forms (egregores if you want to use elitist/exclusionary language), both for good and bad - and some neutral, and these are - if powerful or well-established - often part of established socially powerful groups;

-          the way to clear these is not to get into conspiracy fantasies or try big spectacular attacks on them at their top, most powerful levels: just as we are seeking to build from the ground up, start weakening them by removing their power base - the everyday people who have been duped or controlled (which is partly by directly removing psychic control, partly by “upskilling” people so they can protect and generally look after themselves - even if that upskilling is only on their nonphysical levels).
This is something that is best when working on uncooperatives as well - clear their bases of support first, then the  uncooperatives (see this short story of mine for an example).
It takes time to work up to this, but keep in mind it took the allies years to be ready for D-Day in World War (part) 2 - time which included training armies, as this course is advocating for;

-          when you work on any specific group mind, be careful that you don’t “throw the baby out with the bathwater”.

In the lesson on withdrawal, I mentioned writing a short story to illustrate that concept; I would love to write a series of novels to illustrate the concept of a grand strategy, as what is available doesn’t cover what I wish to: the Star Wars series of films touches on it, but with a set of psychic skills that doesn’t match reality (and a focus on individual character arcs); the Dresden series of novels might be heading towards illustrating grand strategy but also uses a set of psychic skills that doesn’t match reality (and includes more physical violence than is necessary for what I want); . . . the grand strategy decisions of World War (part) Two are probably along the lines of what I want to illustrate, but they’re in the realm of physical existence - a brutal, devastating set of physical events with little psychic components that shows the consequences of physical warfare, discrimination & hate, desire for vengeance, and inaction on human rights issues. Those are all important lessons, but don’t illustrate the lessons of psychic grand strategy.

I guess I’ll just have to do some writing if I ever get to retire . . .

This week’s sigil is Planning.

Exercise AJ- finding and working with other groups

Establish and check  protection, and then do your initial self-assessment.

Do your combined basic energy work drill, which is, as a broad summary:

  • Exercise A - self care (Week No. 46);
  • Exercise B - links (self work) (Week No. 47);
    Exercise C - links (partnered - whether physical or nonphysical) (Week No. 48);
  • Exercise D - objects (self work) (Week No. 49);
    Exercise E - objects (partnered - whether physical or nonphysical) (Week No. 50);
  • Exercise F - energies (self work) (Week No. 51);
    Exercise G - energies (partnered - whether physical or nonphysical) (Week No. 52);
  • Exercise H - rescuing cooperatives (self work) (Week No. 53);
    Exercise I - rescuing cooperatives (partnered - whether physical or nonphysical) (Week No. 54);
  • Exercise J - rescuing uncooperatives (partnered - whether physical or nonphysical) (Week No. 55).

In addition to the skills directly practised, the partnered exercises have practised your ability to work constructively with others. Both sets of skills will now be developed (and pay particular attention to the skills in the lessons on proficiency, countering adaptations, and evolution [which included the “this course as a blog” links] ), but with a focus towards working in larger groups, which in turn have a focus on changing the world. These will be based on the Rangers of the Inner Plane, which is no longer physically active (other than me), but is still working on the nonphysical.

I’m a little reluctant to write about this, given how little success I have had in the area, but that is largely my refusal to use one particular social media platform, combined with other life demands.

Nevertheless, there are some points I wish to make - and the preceding section on grand strategy has made it clear this is a potential opportunity.

The way that I have found best to attract BPM people, groups, opportunities and places into my life is to actively generate (for me, by using alternate nostril breathing exercises + visualisation [or, initially, just willing emotions to flow out from me] ) BPM energy (or “clear light”, if you prefer), and then watch carefully and be open minded about what comes your way.

It will possibly take years, but you will get a better outcome that way than by spending the intervening time chasing nonBPM or wasteful options - which may result in you finding your way to the BPM opportunities either later or in a damaged condition.

Now, that’s what works for me; what works for you may be different, but for a BPM outcome, it must be a BPM method. Doing something stupid like bullying your way into a group is never going to be constructive, and I have seen several impatient people try that path and either wind up embittered by being shut out or disrupting (in the original, negative meaning of the word, not the superficial marketing recasting of recent years) the group.

Once your group (and you will have to work out, again, what technique or combinations [anyone who insists on uniformity is incompetent] of techniques works best for your group at doing this) has attracted an opportunity, be spiritually picky:

  • are they BPM? (That will involve being inclusive / non-discriminatory on race, sex, gender identity, sexuality, etc, but also Lesson 63);
  • do they know how to work together with others who may have minor differences of technique, or are they arrogant?
  • how do their group structures, training and techniques match against what is in, for example, Lessons 28, 30, 31, 32, 37, 39, 40, 42, 43, 44, 45 and 62?
  • do they have arrogance (consider, for instance, Lessons 48, 49, and 50), impatience (consider, for instance, Lesson 51), or communication (consider, for instance, Lessons 11, 12, 50, 67 [Exercise W]) problems?
  • and any other aspects you may wish to consider.

Keep in mind also that your co-working may be limited, so the answers don’t have to be perfect on all counts.

And also remember to automatically, quietly, without a fuss, clear ALL nonBPM units that you may become aware of during all discussions - or any group work, really.

Do your final self-assessment and restorative work, re-check yourself (get help if you need it), and then close your chakras, centre yourself and close your aura, use the banishing version of the LBRP to close circle, ground and release all excess energy; and make sure you are grounded and closed down - implement your Psychic Emergency Action Plan if necessary.

The Meditation (see here, here, and here) broadly consists of:

(1) use appropriate and responsible techniques (see here, here, here), prayer and ritual (e.g., here) to establish and check protection (re-do the protection, or re-schedule the meditation, if you don’t feel safe and secure);
(2) establish a personal connection to your Higher BPM influences;
(3) visualise the sigil (see above) for this work. Think of what this work means for you as you do so, then, when you feel you have fully tuned in to the meaning of the sigil, see it as a portal or doorway (you could open it like a door [close it behind you], simply pass through it, visualise yourself shrinking and passing through the centre, or whatever else works best for you), and travel through to to a place created by the visualisation of yourself and others for this work. That place should have:
     (a) a visualisation of the workplace you personally prefer - something you can change, if you wish, as you yourself change;   and
     (b) a shared visualisation of a device to astrally share our knowledge, something developed in a previous project (still active astrally): a visualisation of a large, green, multifaceted emerald. Large: around half the size of the Moon; multifaceted - billions, for all people who wish to be part of this at any time; green - largely tied up with the previous project, but has connotations of nature and growth. One of those facets is yours - choose whatever location and shape you wish (and you may change that as you change [grow] over time), but in the interest of humility and sharing, see it at around human - or human aura - size;
(4) flush one’s aura with green (R0, G102, B0), blue (R0, G0, B204) and purple (R153 G0, B204);
(5) fill one’s Heart
Chakra (and maybe one’s Earth Star, Solar Plexus, Third Eye and Crown Chakras) with green, blue and purple; send a weave of three streams of this colour from the Chakra(s) to the visualised gigantic, multi-faceted emerald through your facet until you see your energy enlivening other areas of the emerald and can feel similar energies flowing back to you;
(6) visualise the rune / bindrune;
(7) generate  feelings of love, peace, joy and respect;
(8) strengthen those feelings (energies);
(9) radiate those energies to the world for nine to eighteen minutes;
(10) then, on Sunday, also perform the additional meditation work for around 15 minutes or so: contemplate the topic, and the spiritual (i.e., nonphysical) implications of it, and seek insights and understanding. Do not be distracted by thoughts of physical actions - those are necessary also, but this exercise is about the nonphysical, in the broadest possible sense, and the focus should be on nonphysical actions, energy flows, symbols, and the like, all with the intention of bringing about a change for the better. As a second stage, if you wish, you can meditate on any physical actions which may be necessary, but get the spiritually focused work done first;
        Also on Sunday, perform the exercise(s) as set out in this post;
(11) when you have finished your work:
        (i) send the thought of any knowledge you wish to store or share through your portal into the group visualised emerald;
        (ii) return back through the sigil;
        (iii) close your chakras, centre and ground yourself and close your aura, use the banishing version of the LBRP to open circle, ground and release all excess energy; and make sure you are grounded and closed down – eat, if you need to, or seek help from someone capable and trusted; and
        (iv) make sure you are yourself again - free of any
lingering attachments or (misguided) ideas of being subservient, respectful of yourself and your integrity as you should be of others.
