Post No. 1,991 - Magickal Battle of the World - Weekly Meditation - Week No. 63 - Other aids

Black Lives Matter!
The Climate Crisis is real, urgent and
existential!

Stay safe - wash your hands, practice social distancing and wear a face mask in public, and follow informed medical advice - and be considerate towards those at risk or in situations of vulnerability (including economic).

I have been writing about improving the world through a range of means on my blogs: this blog has been focused on spiritual and psychic means, including strengthening  BPM  units and clearing nonBPM units, and meditation to generate BPM energy (and units, if you know enough). This has been done before - particularly during times of crisis. (See also this excellent analysis on the topic.)

World War II was probably the biggest global crisis before our current situation, and during those terrible events, there were a number of people undertaking magickal work, including Dion Fortune - as outlined in the Gareth Knight edited book “The Magical Battle of Britain” (my copy pub. Skylight Press, 2012, ISBN 978-1-908011-45-9), which I reviewed here. Ms Fortune directed her team through a series of 136 weekly and 19 monthly meditations; at the end of this, she was exhausted and that work is considered to have contributed to her death, but a change for the better had been accomplished.

Coming back to the present, the climate crisis has been our World War III for some time, and we also have the COVID-19  pandemic, caused by the zoonotic  SARS-CoV-2  novel coronavirus (there are other novel coronaviruses), on top of that.

Now, we already have a lot of people doing a lot of work on making the world a better place (including before the current crises - and I’ve found this group working at following [and adapting] Ms Fortune’s techniques and purposes), but I would like to extend my contribution to also include a series of weekly - or near weekly - meditations along the line of those directed by Ms Fortune, work which goes beyond my initial response.

This post is this week’s contribution.

This Week: No. 63 - Other aids

Building on from the last lesson (particularly the exercise), let’s consider what many of you have possibly already suspected is my favourite tool: sigils.

This, as with my love of crystals, started when I was young.

As far as crystals go, I used to pick up “happy” rocks, carry them around for a while, then “take them back to their family” when they didn’t feel as happy.

In terms of sigils, I developed a faux “Old English” font, which my adoptive sister got me to use as the heading on her homework assignments.   I also came across books like “The Sacred Symbols of Mu” by James  Churchward (whose grandson  Jack is doing some interesting work on his grandfather’s interests),   found a fascinating series of planetary sigil based jewellery (no longer available, sadly, but there are other sources - just none based on planetary seals from kamea or “magic squares”),   and developed an individual (“unique” - but not commercial or particularly outstanding, just personally very satisfying) sketching style which lent itself to dream imagery.

Later, when I came across runes, I was mildly interested, but then, in the 90s, I attended a workshop run by friend RMftB (Rune Master from the Bush) and found a passion for runes, and he and I have collaborated on the topic ever since. His work (the defence and undetectability runes here) is more artistic and lyrical (tells a story / suggest) than mine (hey, I’m an engineer in my day job, after all) than mine, but we have enjoyed and grown from our work on this topic together.

In particular, I have learned a great deal about how to use runes, and have run a few workshops on those. I though I had put a copy of the notes  online, but see I haven’t yet - probably because I haven’t finished the rewriting of those that I wish to do.

I have however, written a few posts about runes, some tagged, some not (the search engine is pretty good these days). A selection of my posts on runes includes:

I’m going to briefly summarise some of the ways runes (and, to some extent, other symbols / sigils) can be used:

  • draw them temporarily or tattoo them permanently on your body (obviously, be very careful of any tattoo design: I have only one bindrune tattoo, and that is of my craft name);
  • draw them on your moveable or fixed possessions or home (don’t do any permanent damage to rental properties - and, as the books on magickal activist stress: do not break laws [e.g., against graffiti] - anyone who has disregard for that is an incompetent, arrogant tosser);
  • place cards with the runes / sigils on yourself or places or people you wish to protect;
  • incorporate them into jewellery (e.g., this supplier);
  • draw runes / sigils on an image of a person or place - as I also do with some extra posts, for instance;
  • use runes to create talismanic or other  objects with power;
  • visualise the rune / sigil to draw on its power or create it as a thought form, possibly in your aura, or possibly to aid a place (don’t use such devices for healing or protecting people who are not in public roles [i.e., friends or family] without their conscious permission: if you wish to do something for someone you care about but who is resistant, give the creation / energy to that person’s BPM  Guides / Higher Self for use as THEY see fit. Public figures, such as #45 or hitler or the others - BPM and nonBPM - I name in my weekly posts, are a different matter);
  • chant the name or use runic yoga or similar to draw on its power;
  • any of countless other variations, many of which I probably don’t even know of and some of which may not exist yet (or may not exist in this world as yet).

Another point to keep in mind is that, although these are largely not sentient devices / energies, our familiarity and comfort with them will have a bearing on our ability to work with them. Just as I suggested you develop your relationship with deities and make your requests for aid based on the strength of your relationship, rather than which deity has something that sounds useful or relevant on an arrogant shopping list of attributes, so too you should consider using the style of sigils that you are comfortable with and know best - which does mean you cannot develop that relationship by studying that style, as I did with runes (and many “natural” abilities / affinities just mean one did the hard learnin’ work in a previous life).

Now, I’m supposed to be writing about these topics from the point of view of “learning from” or attracting those with a military mindset. OK, so from that point of view, tools in general, including sigils, are often what the military would consider a “force multiplier” - something which enables a group of people to do more than they could on their own.

It’s like the story about the ancient Greek who supposedly said give them a lever long enough, and they’ll move the world (nit-picking from engineering: they’ll also need a support for the fulcrum and whoever/whatever applies the force - I will now dive into a common myth and send the left brain out in search of coffee).

Some other examples:

  • a group of people trying to climb a wall could form a human pyramid, but if they have a ladder they can get over it more quickly and safely;
  • a group of people trying to provide first aid at a disaster site can, for instance, stop some bleeding by direct pressure with their hands, but if they have first aid kits (and, in both cases, appropriate first aid training), they can be more effective.

Their caring or character does not change as a result of having those tools, but what they can do to express their caring has increased.

Although sigils can be used, in meditation, for example, to aid increased awareness and possibly change people’s character, in the context of this wort of psychic work, they are simply a tool - a tool that can be misapplied as well as used for good. Having access to the tools does not make you a better person, although failure to use such tools is a failure of character.

They are, as the military would term, a force multiplier.

Consider their use, but carefully (“professionally”), and without hubris around being able to do so.

This week’s sigil (oh, the irony) is a repeat of Week No. 4’s sigil for - and I’m naming it correctly, finally - cunning (originally: caution, respect, integrity).

Exercise S - Group ethics

Establish and check  protection, and then do your initial self-assessment.

Do your combined basic energy work drill, which is, as a broad summary:

  • Exercise A - self care (Week No. 46);
  • Exercise B - links (self work) (Week No. 47);
    Exercise C - links (partnered - whether physical or nonphysical) (Week No. 48);
  • Exercise D - objects (self work) (Week No. 49);
    Exercise E - objects (partnered - whether physical or nonphysical) (Week No. 50);
  • Exercise F - energies (self work) (Week No. 51);
    Exercise G - energies (partnered - whether physical or nonphysical) (Week No. 52);
  • Exercise H - rescuing cooperatives (self work) (Week No. 53);
    Exercise I - rescuing cooperatives (partnered - whether physical or nonphysical) (Week No. 54);
  • Exercise J - rescuing uncooperatives (partnered - whether physical or nonphysical) (Week No. 55).

In addition to the skills directly practised, the partnered exercises have practised your ability to work constructively with others. Both sets of skills will now be developed (and pay particular attention to the skills in the lessons on proficiency, countering adaptations, and evolution [which included the “this course as a blog” links] ), but with a focus towards working in larger groups, which in turn have a focus on changing the world. These will be based on the Rangers of the Inner Plane, which is no longer physically active (other than me), but is still working on the nonphysical.

Now, we’ve consider the topic of ethics from the perspective of individuals, but the topic also applies to groups - as is demonstrated by some businesses in recent years realising that more ethical operations are better for them and pro-actively pursuing things like social licence certification.

The considerations are slightly different for businesses - not the scale of impacts, as something that is unethical is unethical whether it is good or bad, although the consequences may wind up justifying small matters such as a “white lie” to an individual, but would never justify something like hiding or distorting being “slightly” over an environmental discharge requirement.

In terms of this exercise, the issue of ethics for groups becomes more complicated as you are dealing with multiple individuals, and thus a multiplicity of individual situations and group dynamics, both in the group, and on the part of those affected - a multinational business will impact many people in many cultures and differing situations, whereas the impact of one person - who is not in a position of power - is likely to be across a narrower range of people and situations.

So this exercise - which will likely take several weeks or sessions to implement - comprises the following:

  • review everything already covered on ethics, and consider (discuss!) how that could apply to your group. Be flexible, and allow people adequate time to research and think as you go, so that you get a proper, thorough, and comprehensive assessment, without any pressure or restriction.
    If anyone struggles with the time, they should examine and deal with their impatience/frustration/lack of long term perspective - remember, the means shape the end;
  • as you discuss this, consider:

o   how does the group identify, listen fairly and equitably to (communication - slow, patient, and fair - is crucial to resolving these matters), and balance ethical viewpoints of its members that may differ or vary?
(Answers may include omitting some people temporarily - or some people leaving or forming separate, possibly partly connected groups. You should not be operating autocratically, so if someone is seriously concerned, allow them the option of acting on that as they see fit.)

o   how does the group identify those outside the group who may be affected by its actions, what sort of impacts may occur (reading [including the news] and research [engaging with the world] may be important), and what their BPM ethical considerations may be?
One of the most common issues of concern is that of sending absent healing to someone whose ill health is not affecting anyone else - people such as leaders who may harm others if they make an improper situation chose that level of scrutiny when they took on the role, which is different. However, if someone is ill in a way that does not harm others (e.g., they are not a carer nor do they have dependents), and chooses to hold on to that, then no matter how challenging it is to our desire to help and be of service, we probably should allow them to do that.
In my case, I prefer to direct healing to people I am concerned about through their BPM  Guides - their Guides know whether it is for the person’s Highest Spiritual Good to be healed, or not. If not, then I trust them to redirect, reuse, or store (yes, that can be done) the energy appropriately.
I may then refer to my own BPM Guides on how to deal with anguish or whatever other emotions I am experiencing if I need to.
However, if you ask nicely, many people who are unwell are happy to accept healing - I have only only, in four decades, been declined twice, both times by neochristians.
Other situations, such as the climate crisis or other environmental devastation, or crimes against humanity such as genocide, or murder or assault, are already clearly ethically wrong, and action is warranted.

o   is there a possibility that ethical views may change over time?
As an example, a century or so ago, most people thought environmental devastation, which they termed “development”, was acceptable - no matter what the cost (some still do). Slavery and other forms of discrimination used to be considered acceptable - and one of the key factors in the build up to genocide is manipulating people’s frame of mind so that they see the target group of victims as less than human.
So, to put this question another way, is there a possibility that the group members’ views - singly, in part, or in total - are being warped by their social conditioning (e.g., some women think sexist views are acceptable)?
When considering this, be very mindful of the possibility of personal biases influencing what is claimed to be received as guidance. I have experienced some groups where messages - allegedly from guides - supported homophobia, transphobia, or racism. In fact, there are several books I refuse to recommend because of such fatal flaws.

o   how can the group make allowance for the fact that some impacts may not be known for some time?
When I started to consider that, thalidomide came to mind, where the impacts on pregnant women hadn’t been tested prior to release and the terrible impacts only became apparent after a few years. (Be wary of ableism, however, when considering those affected by this.)
Another example is DDT - hailed for its use in controlling the still-present scourge of malaria (400,000 dead in 2019 from over 200 million cases), it was found to have devastating environmental and human health impacts.
Then, if we look at the industrial revolution, which had critics right from the start but was swept along by a range of factors including people (customers) putting convenience above all else and businesses lacking the ort of ethical consideration some now have, it took around a century for the harm to become undeniable.
Continuing monitoring, and being prepared to step in and remedy any past wrongs may be necessary.

o   these lessons are aimed at volunteer only groups: how does that affect the dynamics of managing ethics / ethical conflicts?

o   what else?

And also remember to automatically, quietly, without a fuss, clear ALL nonBPM units that you may become aware of during all discussions - or any group work, really.

Do your final self-assessment and restorative work, re-check yourself (get help if you need it), and then close your chakras, centre yourself and close your aura, use the banishing version of the LBRP to close circle, ground and release all excess energy; and make sure you are grounded and closed down - implement your Psychic Emergency Action Plan if necessary.

The Meditation (see here, here, and here) broadly consists of:

(1) use appropriate and responsible techniques (see here, here, here), prayer and ritual (e.g., here) to establish and check protection (re-do the protection, or re-schedule the meditation, if you don’t feel safe and secure);
(2) establish a personal connection to your Higher BPM influences;
(3) visualise the sigil (see above) for this work. Think of what this work means for you as you do so, then, when you feel you have fully tuned in to the meaning of the sigil, see it as a portal or doorway (you could open it like a door [close it behind you], simply pass through it, visualise yourself shrinking and passing through the centre, or whatever else works best for you), and travel through to to a place created by the visualisation of yourself and others for this work. That place should have:
     (a) a visualisation of the workplace you personally prefer - something you can change, if you wish, as you yourself change;   and
     (b) a shared visualisation of a device to astrally share our knowledge, something developed in a previous project (still active astrally): a visualisation of a large, green, multifaceted emerald. Large: around half the size of the Moon; multifaceted - billions, for all people who wish to be part of this at any time; green - largely tied up with the previous project, but has connotations of nature and growth. One of those facets is yours - choose whatever location and shape you wish (and you may change that as you change [grow] over time), but in the interest of humility and sharing, see it at around human - or human aura - size;
(4) flush one’s aura with green (R0, G102, B0), blue (R0, G0, B204) and purple (R153 G0, B204);
(5) fill one’s Heart
Chakra (and maybe one’s Earth Star, Solar Plexus, Third Eye and Crown Chakras) with green, blue and purple; send a weave of three streams of this colour from the Chakra(s) to the visualised gigantic, multi-faceted emerald through your facet until you see your energy enlivening other areas of the emerald and can feel similar energies flowing back to you;
(6) visualise the rune / bindrune;
(7) generate  feelings of love, peace, joy and respect;
(8) strengthen those feelings (energies);
(9) radiate those energies to the world for nine to eighteen minutes;
(10) then, on Sunday, also perform the additional meditation work for around 15 minutes or so: contemplate the topic, and the spiritual (i.e., nonphysical) implications of it, and seek insights and understanding. Do not be distracted by thoughts of physical actions - those are necessary also, but this exercise is about the nonphysical, in the broadest possible sense, and the focus should be on nonphysical actions, energy flows, symbols, and the like, all with the intention of bringing about a change for the better. As a second stage, if you wish, you can meditate on any physical actions which may be necessary, but get the spiritually focused work done first;
        Also on Sunday, perform the exercise(s) as set out in this post;
(11) when you have finished your work:
        (i) send the thought of any knowledge you wish to store or share through your portal into the group visualised emerald;
        (ii) return back through the sigil;
        (iii) close your chakras, centre and ground yourself and close your aura, use the banishing version of the LBRP to open circle, ground and release all excess energy; and make sure you are grounded and closed down – eat, if you need to, or seek help from someone capable and trusted; and
        (iv) make sure you are yourself again - free of any
lingering attachments or (misguided) ideas of being subservient, respectful of yourself and your integrity as you should be of others.
